If you haven’t heard of Oxbow Estate yet, keep reading because you’re going to want to learn all about it. I think this is going to be one of the more popular venues in North Carolina simply because there is nothing quite like it. A large majority of venues offered around here are old mills, warehouses, and farms. These are of course gorgeous options, but it’s always exciting when there is another choice with a punch of luxury.
Additional wedding decor is not even necessary to give this place charm and personality. The tall windows, gold trim and mirrors, elegant fireplaces, and marble flooring and walls make this place a stunning backdrop for sophistication and timelessness. On top of that, the exteriors include an open-air veranda and rolling hills that make you feel like you’ve entered an English countryside. All backed up to the Neuse River, this location is an absolute dream for a wedding celebration. There are also several suites with plenty of getting-ready space, as well as a cozy River House you may rent on AirBnB for a weekend getaway.
I decided to hold a candlelit styled shoot at Oxbow Estate because I often see styled shoots at the ideal time and perfect light of the day, which I don’t find to be realistic compared to a normal wedding day. A good portion of the reception is often after sunset, and I want to show how perfect this venue can be, even at night. With direct flash being back on trend, I aimed to mix that and a moody candlelit table to capture elegance and luxury with some party vibes. I couldn’t have done this without a stellar vendor team who provided florals, a sharp tuxedo, a stunning dress, and knockout hair and makeup. These vendors are well-known in the Triangle and incredibly talented, be sure to check them out if you are searching for your own vendors!
