Kati and Mikey’s engagement session felt classic yet full of personality. I always encourage couples to pick a location that has meaning to them, and North Carolina Museum of Art is a place they’ve frequented in their relationship. The Art Park and the museum exterior provided two gorgeous but different backdrops. This was perfect for both a formal and casual outfit change. I also loved how Kati wanted to incorporate sunglasses, which added some extra “cool vibes” with their nicer look. We started in full sun to take advantage of the sunnies, and as the sun got lower, switched it to a cozy fall look around the meadow area of the Art Park. We found some stunning flowers still blooming and grassy paths to play in. We stayed until it got dark and enjoyed a perfectly beautiful sunset for our final few photos. I had a blast with these two and know their wedding will be an absolute dream.
A NCMA engagement session is perfect for couples who frequent the museum or just the grounds. It has some comforts other locations don’t have – a bathroom! Great for bathroom breaks and family sessions. And the variety if perfect for those who want a couple of different backdrops. We are able to capture an urban, minimal feel with art surrounding you, as well as wooded trails and open green fields. Did you know you can get married here too? Just throwing it out there because it’s on my bucket list 🙂 I’m a sucker for classic wedding portraits with priceless works of art in gold frames as a background.
