Why was shooting at Heights House Hotel a no-brainer for me, and why do I think you should book your wedding here? While Raleigh has a myriad of venue styles to choose from, this Italianate style mansion will be a timeless choice for a full weekend celebration with your loved ones. There are 9 rooms, all of which are beautifully lit in natural light and styled with luxurious details that complement the mansion. This means little decor is necessary for any wedding vision. I love that every angle of this place allows a gorgeous photo, so those candids I love to capture will always have a beautiful backdrop. The high ceilings, arched windows, stunning fireplaces and neutral palette take you a high end step back in time.
Their front yard is tucked away under large trees and the front of this house will absolutely wow your guests as they arrive. If you haven’t visited Heights House, there are plenty of opportunities to do so. Pop in for cocktail hour in The Parlor for a drink and charcuterie board or attend their Music On The Lawn or Supper Club events. You won’t want to miss these!
I haven’t done many styled shoots, mainly because my work focuses on documenting real moments and genuine love. They are a blast though, and a styled shoot seemed like a perfect way to get to know some highly recommended vendors in my new area of Raleigh and Durham. I’ve stayed in their stunning Honeymoon Suite and instantly fell in love with every corner and detail (including the clawfoot bathtub and incredible breakfast!). I’ve been eager to do something creative here, so it was the perfect chance for this. I kept things simple, letting the space speak for itself and styled it minimally as if it was an intimate elopement.
I was blown away by the gorgeous bouquet and boutonnière from Teacup Floral, feeling both luxurious and simple. The dress from White Bridal Boutique and tux from Bernard’s were stunning compliments to the timeless decor around, and Reign Beauty did fabulous work on Crystal’s hair and makeup. I met the models Crystal and Mikey at a mini session this spring and loved how sweet they were with each other, and thought they were absolutely perfect. It was important for me to have a real couple model so I could capture genuine emotion, I think they nailed it!
I hope I get to work with this dream team again at this dream venue. I hope the images speak for themselves and give you an idea of what your wedding day could be like at Heights House!
