Some of my favorite photos from our spring minis in Raleigh, NC
Last June in 2023, I had the pleasure of photographing a large group of families that Oceanaire Realty’s Brandon Yopp worked with to find their perfect homes. We had a blast all weekend enjoying the gorgeous Raleigh Rose Garden and I got to meet a lot of sweet puppies and kiddos. I’ll be offering Spring Mini Sessions at this gorgeous place again this year! Take a look at a few of my favorites below and snag your slot of May. And If you can’t make that date, don’t worry, I’ll also be at Coker Arboretum and two locations in Charlotte in April and May.
What are mini sessions?
Mini sessions are 15 minute photo shoots at a predetermined time and location. I have time slots so that I can book multiple sessions at once time. You receive around 40 photos in an online gallery and the price is $325 plus sales tax.
Who are mini sessions for?
Anyone! Whether you have kids, close parents or in-laws, fur babies, if are a baby-free couple, or just want some headshots, you are welcome to come. It’s also a great option if you don’t have the budget for a full 90 minute session. I used to not offer minis until my wedding couples started families, only to realize their kiddos and themselves didn’t want to commit to a full session, and only wanted a 15 minutes to shine. It’s perfect for folks who want less of a narrative about their family (ie. me joining your family at home and photographing you all getting ready for the day and making breakfast), and just want a couple of great group photos captured.
Are these all posed?
Despite being a documentary photographer, I know it’s important to families to get all the main groupings. I try my best to knock those out in the first half of the session so the final half can be for having fun, exploring, playing games, and doing prompts. I think both types are crucial for a good session! When you book your session, you receive a questionnaire for me to learn more about your family before we get started, making it easier for us to capture the good stuff.
