Last fall, we had a blast capturing families and couples in both Raleigh and Charlotte, NC. While Spring minis are my favorite, fall seems to be the biggest hit thanks to the colorful foliage and snagging those gorgeous shots for christmas cards. Check out last years highlights and the info below to see if mini sessions are right for you!
What are mini sessions?
Mini sessions are 15 minute photo shoots at a predetermined time and location. I have time slots so that I can book multiple sessions at once time. You receive around 30 photos in an online gallery and the price is $300 plus sales tax.
Who are mini sessions for?
Anyone! Whether you have kids, close parents or in-laws, fur babies, if are a baby-free couple, or just want some headshots, you are welcome to come. It’s also a great option if you don’t have the budget for a full 90 minute session. I used to not offer minis until my wedding couples started families, only to realize their kiddos and themselves found the length of full session difficult, and only needed 15 minutes to shine. It’s perfect for folks who want less of a narrative about their family (ie. me joining your family at home and photographing you all getting ready for the day and making breakfast), and just want a couple of great group photos captured with a few candids sprinkled in.
Are these all posed?
Despite being a documentary photographer, I know it’s important to families to get all the main groupings. I try my best to knock those out in the first half of the session so the final half can be for having fun, exploring, playing games, and doing prompts. I think both types are crucial for a good session! When you book your session, you receive a questionnaire for me to learn more about your family before we get started, making it easier for us to capture the good stuff.
